Tesoro Cultural Center celebrates Native heritage with its annual event.

For two days each May, the Tesoro Cultural Center, headquartered at The Fort restaurant complex in Morrison, Colorado, hosts its annual Indian Market & Powwow, Colorado’s largest authentic American Indian art show. The event benefits the nonprofit’s educational programs promoting the Southwestern art and cultural heritage.
During the weekend-long event, the Indian Market & Powwow pays tribute to the tribes that shaped the culture of the area surrounding Bent’s Old Fort, a historical trading post that operated along the Santa Fe Trail in the 1830s. Nationally acclaimed Native artists and jewelry designers showcase their unique designs, which are also available for purchase. More than 50 intertribal dancers and drum groups decked out in traditional regalia perform, sharing their heritage through traditional dances.

Additionally, educational and interactive exhibits focusing on American Indian culture give every member of the family something to look forward to. And when the kids need a break after eagle and hawk demonstrations from HawkQuest, guests can grab a snack of Southwestern cuisine from The Fort and the Northern Colorado Intertribal Powwow Association.
